Labor Agent
A third party that recruits, places, or manages workers for an employer and can add serious risk if its role is opaque or poorly controlled.
Definition
A labor agent is any intermediary involved in finding or placing workers. That can include a recruiter, broker, sub-agent, or other party that influences the contract, fee flow, or hiring pathway.
The risk is not simply that an agent exists. The risk is that the buyer or employer cannot see who is involved, what workers were promised, what fees were charged, or who is accountable when something goes wrong.
